Spirit has low fares from EWR (Newark) to FLL (Fort Lauderdale/Miami) in the month of September.Now, say what you want about Spirit but they are definitely improving as an airline. They recently announced 2 Major Changes:1: No change or cancel fees.2: Baggage allowance is now 50lbs, just like any other airline.I've personally flown Spirit many times and after all said and done wasn't too bad, plus I saved a lot of money!

How to avoid carry on fee:
Spirit is famous for charging a fee for a carry on, but there is a way around it. Even though they don't allow a carry on, they do allow a personal item.A personal item can be a bag, backpack, etc....I bought this large backpack at Amazon as a personal item, and it carries almost as much as a real carry on!
Travel with this if you can to avoid paying any luggage fees, just pay the base fare!
